Xmas 2009

Well, I haven't written anything here for quite a while. I have to admit that I don't have much interest in life anymore and I just seem to be trying to fill in time. Don't get me wrong .. I am extremely grateful for my life and my family, but when I see the madness, savagery and insanity that is constantly happening all over the world ... I just keep getting overcome with an incredible sadness and wonder at the futility and pointlessness of life for the human species. I really think that this world would be a better place if we weren't here.

Anyway, I do find a lot of comfort in the fact that so many people visit this little site of mine and get some pleasure from it. It fills me with a feeling of hope when I read the kind and thoughtful comments posted by the many visitors. I'm not sure yet, but I may end up keeping this site going after next June. Since I can't seem to find any interest in adding to it or improving it, there seems to be more than enough stuff on here to keep many people happy. And I think that's enough of a reason.

I'm not religious (I'm an Atheist), but Xmas has a good message that we should all be reminded of. We are all visitors on this planet and visitors to life, as such, we should all take time to consider others just as much as we consider ourselves. Kindness, courtesy and civility don't cost anything, but can make all the difference to the people you meet as you journey through life.
Kindness not only helps someone else, but also makes you feel better. Have the courage to stand up for others, speak for those who cannot speak and don't be afraid to say you're sorry. There's no shame in admitting you made a mistake - it's easy to argue, but it takes courage to admit that you were wrong.

I hope everyone has a very happy Xmas and a safe and peaceful new year.
